I found this thread while trying to figure this out:
brainstorm.tribe.net/thread/...723123a6
But I have a question about the "listings" method.
When you prepare a listing, at the point where you choose which members, emails and tribes to post your listing to, it says at the top:
"Your post will be shown to everyone in the listings directory and on members' my tribe.net page.
You can promote your listing to more people below."
What, exactly, does "the listing directory" consist of?
And do they mean that your listing shows up on EVERY members' home page?
The second statement seems to indicate that the first statement does not refer to the members and tribes you choose to designate as recipients "below".
This is really unclear and I don't want folks other than who I'm specifically designating to receive the message.
Anyone have any answers or suggestions, or can point me to where I can get some?
Thanks!

Re: Sending Messages to Multiple Recipients; Redux
Mon, April 14, 2008 - 3:37 PMUp at the top of the page, click browse and then listings. That's the listings directory-- it's all of the listings that have been posted on Tribe in your particular geography.
What you're trying to do, in essence, is to create a listing as a surrogate for a private message. That won't work. -
