Wed, October 14, 2009 - 6:43 AMI'd wager that a large margin of tribers consider it entertainment.
My ex sure does. -

Wed, October 14, 2009 - 4:27 PMIf it is so private that it could be terribly invaded, why would anybody put that stuff on their profile, of all places? -

When I say track changes I do not mean like facebooh where emails go out every time you sneeze. But simply a feed on a tribe home page where you can see new free texts and links or videos posted by friends. Besides aren't most profiles available to public viewing unless what is posted is made available only to friends in the posting process? I post stuff outside of my blog or photos that I would like to have in a feed for my friends as well as I would like to see a feed coming in from friends too. It is a simple way to keep up with friends material being posted. In the given situation I can access what they have anyway since I am their friend.
But I do see your point on privacy. I have posted and said oops! then pulled the material down. On facebooh emails went out saying picaro is a fool and on tribe no one noticed. I hear you on the big brother aspect though. What if a member could opt out of such feeds including the blog and picture feed that is already available? That would be a sweet amount of privacy. I am all for that. Of course then the whole structure gets complicated from a programer network tech position I suppose.
eh whatever. I will set my home page on firefox to fifty or a hundred tabs of tribe.net and find what I seek. Muhahahaha! -

Re: tracking of friends profile changes
Sat, October 17, 2009 - 2:53 PMIf you'd like people to be able to track your posts there is a "recent activity" module you can enable. The tracking of every change to your profile though does seem a bit closer to the "every time you sneeze" functionality. That might be a feature we offer for T3+ ... most likely as an opt-in feature, where you can see such activity of others who enable it but only if you have it enabled for yourself. -

Sun, October 18, 2009 - 8:32 PMOne thing I lilke about tribe is that it is NOT like facebook. Thanks for at least offering us a choice in future about whether we want to enable it when it comes. -

My thoughts have been exactly along these lines since reading the comments that came after my original post. I think it is key that opting in or out is important for any features that have the ability to reveal identity. -

Re: tracking of friends profile changes
Sun, October 18, 2009 - 11:31 PMI suggest adding *no* new features.
Make "tribe classic" function, instead.
Although uploadable profile backgrounds wouldn't be tooooo hard -
