Hello,
When reviewing the features of a premium account I noticed that Google Ads are no longer visible.
Presumably there is no option to add back the Google ads. If not, perhaps I can suggest allowing the ads to be enabled for people who like & want them.
On a personal level I find the ads interesting & helpful at times; and in any case from a business perspective with an interest in internet marketing, seeing them is useful. I feel the same about "junk mail" in my letterbox - people have often paid big money to design creative marketing pieces which I can learn from free of charge.
Simply speaking them, from my perspective, the removal of Google ads is a downgrade.
Alex

Re: Google Ads on premium - suggestion
Tue, March 4, 2008 - 12:28 AMI would like some sort of toggle to enable ads for premium users.. I would be clicking on some of them to help tribe out.. but I totally understanding that this might not be worth the effort to implement.. -

Re: Google Ads on premium - suggestion

Re: Google Ads on premium - suggestion
Wed, March 5, 2008 - 1:36 AMIliano girl is back, your Majesty! It's the holographic mylar large-sized sequins hot pants, super ugly makeup, and shower-curtain ensemble. She's laying down and the look on her face says, "you're going to give me heroin as soon as you take that fucking picture, right?"
THANK BABY JESUS!!!!
I clicked on it and laughed at the ad for "Apocalypse" hot pants: "keep away from fire".
hahahahahahaha -

Re: Google Ads on premium - suggestion
Tue, March 4, 2008 - 6:48 AMThe ads never bothered me as long as they didn't interfere with content. I didn't like ads in the middle of discussion threads. Off to the side and at the bottom of a page is fine. If Tribe needs revenue, and most premium members don't mind ads, it seems silly that we wouldn't just keep them for all users. I suspect in the scheme of things there are other features premium members would rather have than the elimination of ads.
Survey says?
Now, 'junk mail' in my inbox? That's a whole different discussion that I don't think we should go into here. Tribe has been very good about minimizing spam and I'd like to see it stay that way. -

Re: Google Ads on premium - suggestion
Tue, March 4, 2008 - 7:55 AMI LOVE having no ads!!
seriously, for me it's almost worth the five dollars a month just to have them gone.
the pages load much much faster now without them. noticeable difference in speed.
(but I agree, that if someone really really wants to see them, they should have that option) -

Re: Google Ads on premium - suggestion
Tue, March 4, 2008 - 5:42 PMThis has to be the weirdest commentary I've seen about ads.
The truth be told, load times are much faster without Google Ads. Would you rather have tribe.net be faster to load, or would you rather have ads? That's what it comes down to. -

Re: Google Ads on premium - suggestion
Tue, March 4, 2008 - 5:54 PMFaster to load wins hands down for me! I guess some folks like options though. We all use this network in our own individual ways so the more we can personalize it for our needs the better.

Re: Google Ads on premium - suggestion
Tue, March 4, 2008 - 9:32 PMThe notion of someone wanting to see ads makes my head explode.
Look up. Look to your left. Look to your right. You probably saw at least 5 marketting messages in the process, regardless if where you are. -
