Re: tribe.net brainstorming as a topic, or not
Tue, June 2, 2009 - 12:32 AMWhen are the brainstorming ideas going to show up?
Looks like the same thing so far. Small talk, pleasant though it is.
Where are the ideas?
Is it important that we know who each other are? Why?
Is this a dating site?

Re: tribe.net brainstorming as a topic, or not
Tue, June 2, 2009 - 8:04 AM"Is it important that we know who each other are? Why? "
---It probably was at the beginning, when tribe.net intended to be a community built on trust and reputations. But for whatever reason, the uses of alts and concealed identities became almost the norm, long ago. Anyhow, some of the same few people who keep demanding that real identities be used do not use their own real names or photos. These same few people have a history of using tribe.net to fish for personal information from other people, which they then use to blackmail, manipulate, embarass or otherwise harass those people.
---Then there are other people who use their real identities, but have such sorry reputations in real life that they have nothing to lose by using their real identities to stalk, harass or troll. These people also demand that other people use their real identities so that they can also use the information to blackmail, manipulate, embarass or otherwise harass those people who chose not to use their real identities.
"Is this a dating site?"
---for stalkers, it is. Stalking is just how some people "date." Abnormal people have found a way they can "virtually date" normal people, via the web. By stalking them.
---These are serious problems for tribe. How can tribe reconcile the concept of community with the fact that it is a haven for people with abnormal and psychotic behavior, one in which these people can exploit the rules to try to gain power over people that they would never have in real life? Is it to be a community for people with mental and emotional disorders? That is what it has become.
---Tribe.net has fallen into two camps. The die hards who believe in the site and won't quit it, even though it is overrun with crazy people, and the nutcases who won't leave because they have no other place to go. These two camps are constantly at war with each other. The ensuing drama is the main form of entertainment.

Sat, June 20, 2009 - 12:34 PMToo many hits, they're redirecting. I hate that. What's the point of hyperlinking when you don't let people hyperlink?
