I wrote a "piece" as stated that is in the genres of Beethoven, Mozart, not Chopin, others that included scales. Scales or repetition is too, boring! There is an intriicate melodic line similar to "Fur Elise." Cadences, timing, and everything that everyone would want to hear reaching that "high note" is written as such G usually unsharped, C and F sharped flows...and flows about and surrounding the main melody.
So, now I'm also writing a new prelude, a song about Hawaii(last time I had help from the Univ. of Hawaii at Hilo with a Hawaiian phrase) and M. A. record company has forwarded a song of mine to the late, great IZ's family for consideration.
I try....and it's difficult...but I can write words as easily as notes and I have to try to make this work for me. Wouldn't you?
I'm also beginning a new Christmas Song(I've written 12) and this is another part of "the season" that will be written.
Such a challenge at the piano...

Make sure there are lots of drums, perhaps referencing afro-cuban rhythmic traditions. -

Re: "Prelude In A Major!"
Thu, May 14, 2009 - 9:13 PMYou know that I only write for piano...but drums, percussion , violins, oboes, tubas can be on the prelude. The piece is writen for piano in Allegro but there is room for acompianment in the bass cleff mostly with the drums per se.

Re: "Prelude In A Major!"
Thu, May 14, 2009 - 9:16 PMThis is a classically written song not incorporating Cuban drums but they could probably be substituted for som sixteenth notes in the bass clef notes. I didn't think any ethnic genre when I wrote it just pure music.
